Do I need to create an account to book?

Can I book in advance?
Yes. You can pre-book journeys for later the same day or future dates, including early-morning and airport transfers.
Can I book for someone else?
Yes. You can book for friends, family, or colleagues. Just enter the passenger’s details during booking.
Can I make multiple stops on one journey?
Yes. You can add extra stops when booking through the app or online platform.
Card Payments, Checks & Charges
Why did I receive a notification from my bank when I booked a ride?
When you request a ride using card payment, Venture Taxis may place a temporary authorisation hold on your card for the estimated fare amount. Some banks notify customers when this happens. This is a standard e-commerce practice to ensure your card is valid and has sufficient funds.
What is an authorisation hold?
An authorisation hold is a temporary pending amount, not a completed charge. The money is reserved by your bank but has not been taken from your account.
When is the authorisation hold applied?
The authorisation hold is applied:
-
When you request a ride using card payment
-
To confirm your card works correctly
-
To ensure enough funds are available for the journey
What happens when my trip is completed?
Once the trip is completed, the authorisation hold is either:
-
Converted into the final charge, or
-
Adjusted if the final fare differs from the estimated amount
Why was I charged £1 when I added my card?
When you first add a card, we may place a £1 temporary authorisation to verify the authenticity of the card.
This is not a charge and is reversed automatically by your bank.
Why does it look like I was charged twice?
Sometimes the authorisation hold and the final charge appear at the same time on your bank statement. This can make it look like you were charged twice.
You were not charged twice — the pending authorisation will disappear once your bank releases it.
How can I tell the difference between a pending hold and an actual charge?
On your bank statement:
-
Authorisation holds usually show as “Pending”, “In Progress”, or “Voided”
-
Completed charges show as “Posted” or “Completed”
What happens if I cancel my trip?
If you cancel your trip:
-
The authorisation hold is immediately voided by Venture Taxis
-
Your bank may take a few days to release the funds back to your available balance
When will the authorisation hold be removed?
We void authorisation holds immediately, but the time it takes to disappear depends on your bank.
This can take up to several working days, during which the funds may appear unavailable.
Who can I contact for more information about an authorisation hold?
For exact release times, please contact your bank directly. They can confirm that the funds have not left your account and advise when the pending amount will be removed.

Promo Codes & Discounts
Does Venture Taxis offer promo codes or discounts?
Yes. From time to time, Venture Taxis may issue promotional codes as part of special offers or marketing campaigns.
How do promo codes work?
Promo codes can be entered during the booking process and will apply a discount to the journey fare, subject to the terms of the promotion.
Are there any restrictions on promo codes?
Yes. Promo codes:
-
Are only valid for bookings paid by card
-
Will not apply to cash bookings
-
Must be entered at the time of booking
-
Cannot be used after a booking has been completed
Why are promo codes limited to card payments only?
Promo codes are restricted to card payments because Venture Taxis reimburses the discounted amount directly to the driver. This ensures drivers receive the full fare for the journey.
Can promo codes be combined with other offers?
Unless stated otherwise, promo codes cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
Appointments, Schedules & Delays
Should I allow extra time for appointments or scheduled journeys?
Yes. We strongly recommend allowing extra time when booking journeys for important appointments, work schedules, or time-sensitive travel.
Why should I allow extra time?
Journey times can be affected by factors outside of our control, including:
-
Traffic congestion
-
Roadworks or diversions
-
Weather conditions
-
Accidents or unexpected delays
-
Passenger pickup or drop-off delays
Allowing extra time helps reduce the risk of arriving late.
Does Venture Taxis guarantee arrival times?
While we aim to provide reliable and punctual service, arrival times cannot be guaranteed due to variable road and traffic conditions.
What if I am late for an appointment?
Venture Taxis cannot accept responsibility for missed appointments, meetings, or schedules caused by circumstances beyond our control. Customers are advised to book earlier than required to allow a reasonable buffer.
Are pre-booked journeys prioritised?
Yes. Pre-booked journeys are prioritised where possible, but they are still subject to traffic conditions and availability at the time of travel.
